Get out and have fun!

Sometimes it's hard to remember photography isn't just a job. So much time goes into "working" with the camera that we may forget to have fun. I'm trying to take my camera with me more as I'm enjoying other aspects of my life. Those other aspects can be opportunities for great images. Recently I got to watch the Firestone Summit Bigfoot Truck smash up some cars. Here's some of my favorite images. This wasn't a paid gig. It's just me being part of the crowd taking pictures. All images were shot with a Canon 5D with the Canon 70-200 2.8 lens ISO 100 at various apertures and shutter speeds.

Elaine & Dan Married!

Elaine and Dan were married on 4/24/2010. This was my first wedding of the season and I can't think of a better way to start. The ceremony was simple with the bride and groom surrounded by some of their closest family and friends. In contrast, the reception was over the top at their home on Lake Norman. Everyone had a great time and was glad to see these two get hitched. Elaine and Dan have a personality that puts everyone at ease. I still remember the first time I met them and they had me sitting on the couch with them showing me photographs they had taken while scuba diving. Here is a few of my favorite shots from their day. I am photographing an after session with Elaine and Dan, so you will see more great images of this couple soon.
